Partnering British driver Jamie Day, Baudouin Detout turned pole position into victory in the second race of the weekend, enabling Comtoyou Racing to secure its first win in the ADAC GT Masters in the process.
Starting from pole position
Right from qualifying, the No. 39 Aston Martin established itself at the front of the field. Jamie Day secured pole position, giving the Detout/Day crew the best possible grid position for the race.
A particularly impressive performance on a track as demanding as the Nürburgring, where the slightest mistake can immediately cost several places.
With a car perfectly prepared by the Comtoyou Racing team, all the ingredients were in place to challenge for victory.
A race he controlled from start to finish
Starting from pole position, the No. 39 crew quickly took control of the race.
Jamie Day got the race off to a perfect start before handing over the wheel to Baudouin Detout. The Frenchman then carried on the good work, maintaining a steady pace and managing his stint with consummate skill.
In a race where strategy, tyre management and consistency were key, the No. 39 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 EVO gave its rivals very few opportunities.
At the finish, Jamie Day and Baudouin Detout crossed the line as winners, securing a historic victory for Comtoyou Racing in the German championship.
For Baudouin Detout, this success also marks an important milestone: it is his first GT3 victory in the ADAC GT Masters championship.
“This victory has a special flavour to it. We’ve worked really hard since the start of the season and this first win is a reward for the whole team’s efforts. Starting from pole position and finishing first at the Nürburgring is obviously a very special moment in my career.”
A result that rewards the team’s collective effort
Beyond the performance of the two drivers, this victory is above all a reward for the work carried out by the entire Comtoyou Racing – Aston Martin Racing programme.
Having entered the ADAC GT Masters this season with its Aston Martin Vantage GT3 EVO, the Belgian team has reached a new milestone with this first victory in the championship.
Comtoyou Racing already has a wealth of experience in top-level GT3 racing, notably through its Aston Martin programme and its historic victory at the 2024 Spa 24 Hours.
At the Nürburgring, this experience came to fruition perfectly with a flawless performance from the No. 39 crew.
A victory that bodes well for more to come
After several races in which he performed well without always being rewarded with the result he’d hoped for, this success marks a turning point in Baudouin Detout’s season.
The Frenchman has thus confirmed his progress in the GT3 scene and once again demonstrated his ability to perform at the very highest level of the German championship.
This victory also enables the Detout/Day duo to consolidate their position in the championship and, above all, to take their campaign to a new level in the 2026 season.
The next round of the ADAC GT Masters will now take the championship to the Salzburgring, ahead of the season finale at the Hockenheimring.
One thing is now certain: having tasted victory at the Nürburgring, Baudouin Detout and Comtoyou Racing are determined to remain at the forefront.
