A third year as part of the Aston Martin family
Being accepted into the AMR Driver Academy for the first time is in itself a recognition of a driver’s potential. Being retained for a third consecutive year confirms the confidence placed in him by Aston Martin Racing and the progress he has made over the seasons.
This continuity also reflects the relationship that has gradually developed between Baudouin Detout and Aston Martin Racing, from his early years in GT4 through to his move to GT3 in 2026.
For the French driver, this third year represents a fresh opportunity to continue his development with a manufacturer competing in the world’s top international championships.
An international programme dedicated to the next generation of GT talent
Launched by Aston Martin Racing, the Driver Academy is designed as a comprehensive development programme for young drivers competing within the brand’s network of partner teams.
For the 2026 programme, 22 drivers from ten countries have been selected. They represent several of Aston Martin’s partner teams and compete in various GT3 and GT4 series around the world.
Baudouin Detout has been selected to race for Comtoyou Racing as part of its ADAC GT Masters programme, at the wheel of the Aston Martin Vantage GT3.
This is a particularly significant milestone, as the Frenchman is competing in GT3 for the first time this year as part of the Academy.
An Academy that goes far beyond track performance
The aim of the AMR Driver Academy is not simply to identify the fastest drivers.
Aston Martin Racing supports its candidates in various areas essential to building a professional career: physical training, nutrition, engineering, technical understanding of the Vantage, communication, media relations and commercial aspects.
Drivers benefit from physical and technical assessments, specialist training and ongoing support throughout the season from the Aston Martin Racing teams, engineers and works drivers.
This approach enables young drivers to develop a much more comprehensive understanding of their profession and to prepare for the demands of top-level racing.
A genuine stepping stone to the professional world
Since its inception, the AMR Driver Academy has already supported several drivers who are now competing at the very highest level in GT and endurance racing.
Past winners include Ross Gunn, Roman De Angelis, Valentin Hasse-Clot, Romain Leroux, Mike David Ortmann, Tom Canning, and Jamie Day, Baudouin Detout’s team-mate in the ADAC GT Masters.
These career paths illustrate the programme’s objective: to identify talented drivers, support them in their development and gradually provide them with the tools they need to reach the highest levels of motor racing.
The 2026 season will be a particularly important one for Baudouin
This third selection comes at a key moment in Baudouin Detout’s career.
After several seasons in GT4, the French driver will make his official GT3 debut in 2026 with Comtoyou Racing and Aston Martin in the ADAC GT Masters.
Carrying on learning, carrying on pushing
For Baudouin Detout, this third selection therefore represents much more than a simple renewal.
This move is part of his commitment to building a long-term career and continuing to develop alongside a manufacturer competing at the very highest level in endurance and GT racing.
“A big thank you to AMR for their trust and ongoing support! Let’s keep pushing 💚🏁”
A philosophy that perfectly sums up this new season: learning, improving, performing and continuing to push one’s limits.
